Vestigium

A collection of large copper incense burners created in memory of her brother Anthony Clavet.

An excerpt from a review by Martha Glenny- Magazine, Metal Arts Guild, spring 1991:

Brigitte Clavette presents a thematically focused, self-contained series of functional vessels. Created in response to the death of her brother, these incense burners function equally on metaphorical and real levels expressing the nature of time, change and relationships. The containers, primarily fabricated in copper and surfaced with patinas and coloured pencil, are of a much larger scale than previous work by the artist. Along with new technical challenges, came a shift in attitude, which for Brigitte is integral to the process and expression of these vessels.
